When I got Strophanthus gratus around 7 years ago, Did not think, that its bloom will happen so long ago.

WAITING FOR A MIRACLE

A small stalk was planted in a universal soil with the addition of perlite.

The handsome man quickly grew, so I often had to cut it to give it a neat shape. Every new season I was hoping, that I will see beautiful flowers, however, no miracle happened. My experiments with changing the place of strophanthus, with fertilizing with various fertilizers, stimulants were unsuccessful.

MOVING HELPED THE FLOWERING OF STROPHANTHUS

Last year, our family moved from an apartment to a private house.

The conditions for keeping the flower collection have changed significantly: in the spring-summer period, significant differences in daily temperatures indoors - up to 10 degrees, in winter with a thermostat, the temperature varies within 5-7 degrees.

Probably, this provoked the "reluctance" for a wonderful flowering.

In April, on one of the young shoots, I noticed an atypical growth, and a month later, a fancy "basket" of buds adorned this place, which, even when closed, looked like an exotic flower.

And then one day the first opened up - the delicate scent of a rose charmed! When other buds opened, aroma intensified and notes of lily of the valley appeared.
