GROWING EPIDENDRUM – ORCHID CARE AT HOME
I saw on sale a new orchid for me - rooting epidendrum. Fired up to buy, but I'm afraid, that I can't handle. Are there any features in the content of the plant?

This orchid is not the easiest to grow.. After purchase, it will take a longer time to adapt to high humidity., than any other. Then you can reduce to 50%, but not lower, Otherwise, growth will slow down or stop altogether..
EPIDENDRUM CONDITIONS AND CARE
Epidendrum lighting loves bright, without direct rays. In winter it needs to be illuminated.. From May to mid-September can be taken out into the garden.
Watering the plant, moistening the substrate under hot (30-50 city.) shower. This mimics the natural conditions in the orchid's homeland and has a good effect on it.. The soil should dry thoroughly between waterings., but without drying up.
Feed the flower with fertilizer for orchids - not more often 1 times in 2-3 weeks.
To propagate, baby (formed at the top of the stem or on the peduncle) planted in wet moss in a glass with drainage holes and put in a bottle with a volume 5 l, having previously cut a "door" in the wall. Open it for ventilation and to control the rooting process. You can also divide the bush into parts.
The epidendrum is transplanted into orchid soil immediately after flowering., times in 3-4 of the year (not more often). A support is immediately installed in the pot.
ABOUT EPIDENDRUM FLOWERING
The plant does not have a dormant period.. So that it develops well and blooms, difference between day and night temperatures: eg, if during the day +25 city., then at night - no more +20. Flowering period is from October to February (to 7 months). After that, the peduncle is removed and the orchid is kept in relative dryness for about a month..
