Indoor plants and house flowers on biohumus – reviews

EXPERIMENT: HOUSE PLANTS ON BIOHUMUS

Collector, plant protection agronomist Alsia ATANOVA (r. Lipetsk) grew her flowers on different substrates: landless peat, mixtures of peat with chernozem Starting to use vermicompost for planting, saw changes in the state of pets, which she will talk about today.

SAINTPOLY OF BIOGUMUS

At the beginning of the experiment, plants in a high-moor peat substrate, biogumus, black soil, vermiculite (3:1:1:1) looked unhealthy and barely bloomed. After reading, that the saint-poli have a hard time tolerating high-moor peat, replaced it with lowland, keeping the proportion. Used

earlier trace elements (added granules of slow-acting fertilizers to the soil) contributed to the greater brightness of flowering, but on vermicompost the plants did not just bloom brighter, the color has changed to a warmer side, the petals seem to have been tinted with watercolors. true, there is less contrast in white-spotted varieties. Flowers on plants last longer, than before.

I liked the changes immediately, happenings with Melody Kimi, - the variety blooms profusely and for a long time, unpretentious to conditions, on biohumus, its flowering possibilities have doubled. I was even more impressed by a violet of an unknown industrial cherry variety - the color became warmer and richer, muffled, as if dissolved, slightly visible dirty grayish tint. At Ness Orange Pekoe variegation has become more expressive, a clear edging formed.

WHO DOES NOT SUIT BIOHUMUS

But not all varieties gratefully responded to the addition of vermicompost..

Purple Saintpaulias bloomed as before, and the frosty cherry turned pale, the variegation has disappeared, and although the terry has increased, fewer flowers. Almost the same reaction was observed in the Vika variety..

Vermicompost influenced the growth of outlets, and the reaction of different varieties is individual: in the Dutch industrial sector - remained compact, in the old and some of the Makuni selection - developed slower than usual and grew large.

The chimera surprised: flowering bifurcated into 2 tones - white and blue-violet.

HOW MUCH TO ADD BIOHUMUS TO THE GROUND

The validity period of vermicompost was different for different varieties: for growth – 8-12 months, for flowering - 2-5. Then the degree of manifestation of changes decreased.

HOWEVER, I added quite a lot of vermicompost; if you bring it in handfuls, no strong effect occurs, and the general healing effect is. Using vermicompost, need to remember, that for plants it is not only nutrients, but also a strong stimulant.

STREPTOCARPUS OF BIOGUMUSE

Used light high-moor peat nutrient substrate, compost and vermiculite (3:1:0,5). As a result of such a play of colors, like violets, did not have, but the colors became bright and clear, and the peduncles were formed lower and stronger (than those grown on pure peat). The presence of a gray tint in red varieties is a feature of the species, and breeders strive to get the purest reds possible.

Under the influence of vermicompost, the gray became muted, but, unlike violets, there was no loss of color or contrast of tones so, to recognize the changes as negative. Stimulating effect - individual for different varieties: some of the leaves were unnaturally green at first; no harm to growth or subsequent flowering was observed. The period of validity of vermicompost for streptocarpus is shorter, than violets, - about six months.
