GROWING CUBANOLA IN HOME CONDITIONS

Cubanol Dominican acquired by a small cutting about a year and a half ago. The first year the plant was undergoing adaptation, I will not say, what is smooth: the leaves were constantly "accordion", slowly growing green mass.

THE MOMENT "X" HAS COME

At a certain time I generally thought, that I can not leave it. However, the spring sun came to the rescue in time.. Cubanol has changed in just a couple of weeks: active growth of young juicy leaves began.

And on the crown they appeared 2 button! Many on the forums wrote, that this is not a victory yet, often without optimal conditions, the plant "dries" the buds.

Therefore, I did not have much hope of blooming.. A couple of days later, one of the buds stopped developing., and later completely dried up. However, the second one continued to actively increase in size..

And now, a month later, the moment "X" came - a huge flower blossomed!

true, the aroma did not really suit my taste: too tart, "Special", very intense, especially at night. If one bud filled a large room with the strongest smell, I'm afraid to imagine, what will happen with abundant flowering… This must be taken into account, acquiring such a plant.

KUBANOLA: MAINTENANCE AND CARE

My Cubanola grows in a universal soil mixture with a small amount of silica sand.

Location - southeast. In winter, I illuminate the plant with fluorescent lamps up to 12-hour daylight hours. I water sparingly after the top layer of the soil dries up. So that the main stem does not break under the weight of the bud, strengthened the plant with additional support.
