GROWING HYPOESTES IN HOME CONDITIONS AND CARE
BRIGHT MODNIK GIPOESTES
When years 5-6 back the opportunity presented itself to replenish its already large collection of acanthus hypoesthetics, hurried to do it.
HYPOESTES FROM SEEDS
Seeds of the variety "Paints aquarelle" sown in early spring, after holding it for a couple of hours in a weak solution of "Epin". In a mixture of peat and sand, lightly sprinkled on top, under glass, they hatched after a few days. To prevent the seedlings from stretching, processed them with the "Athlete" (according to instructions) and put it under bright lighting.
After a couple of weeks, I swooped down into a peat substrate, humus, turf and sand (1:1:1:1). How smart they looked!
When transplanting in separate pots, the plants that have grown in one and a half to two months were combined by color. And I planted different ones in one of the flowerpots - it turned out to be a rainbow meadow.
HYPOESTES'S PREFERENCES IN CARE
These southern people prefer a comfortable room temperature., therefore I do not allow sudden changes.
The best place for hypoesthesia is the southern windowsill, but my pets are on a shelf under LED lights, and they like. In good light, plants do not stretch and do not lose their bright color.
Love watering, however, one cannot be zealous.
Spraying is pleasant to the "pestles", but I rarely pamper my own, unless during heating.
I feed with fertilizer for variegated species with a predominance of potassium - once every 2 weeks all year round (on window sills with a decrease in daylight hours, feeding should be limited).
To preserve decorativeness, I pinch the tops of the shoots. This stimulates branching and the appearance of young leaves..
Flowering in hypoestes is inconspicuous, so I try not to admit it, especially since faded bushes age quickly.
I update plants with cuttings. Root easily and quickly in moist, loose soil, especially in spring.
I did not notice pests on hypoesthesia.
