I have many different colors of the Acanthus family, but I especially adore Jacobinia. She is unpretentious, if you follow the rules of content. When the hot pink pom-poms bloom, forget about any effort!

JACOBINIA LOVES HEAT

The pet is standing on the windowsill of the West-East orientation. This is a heat-loving plant, therefore, in winter I keep it at a temperature not lower than +16 city., and in summer it tolerates heat well, however, I shade from the aggressive midday sun, so that there are no burns. I do not allow overdrying of an earthen coma and waterlogging, as the leaves fall. I use filtered water for irrigation, slightly warm.

SPRING CARE

Jacobinia is growing relatively fast, so every spring I cut its shoots by a third, to branch better. I plant the cuttings to the "mother" - the bush becomes even more magnificent. I pinch young plants two or three times. February or March twigs usually bloom in July and delight in September.

With an annual spring transplant into a mixture of leaf, turf land, humus, peat and sand (in equal parts) add some charcoal. Drainage made of foam.

From the beginning of spring to the end of summer, I feed Jacobinia twice a month with fertilizer for flowering flowers, I spray with lukewarm water, since acanthus does not tolerate dry air.
