BEALLARA – GROWING IN HOME CONDITIONS

Beallara Marfitch Renaissance Coral came to me in August of the year before last. The condition of the plant left much to be desired: shriveled pseudobulbs, not changing the appearance after watering, indicate problems with roots or their complete absence.

Usually, if the soil is in good condition, I do not transplant purchased orchids immediately after purchase, giving them time to adapt to new conditions.

I did this this time too. I put the beallara on the table next to the west window. Watered as the soil dries up with warm water.

For six months the plant stood unchanged, and only in February there were two new growths. I moved the orchid to the windowsill, closer to the light, and when watering, I began to add fertilizer to the water according to the instructions.

When the pseudobulbs are ripe, each gave a peduncle. They developed unevenly, but this made it possible to admire the flowering of beallara longer. Peduncles have grown quite long, therefore, due to the severity of the buds, I had to attach them to the support.

The flowers opened alternately and lasted for more than a month..

Interesting, that they were fragrant when purchased, and at home flowering there was no smell.
