CULTIVATION OF BURRAGEARA IN HOME CONDITIONS

Burrageara Nelly Isler - one of the most famous representatives of the oncidium group, famous 1 its intense aroma. But at the same time, judging by the reviews on the forums, not every experienced florist is able to find an approach to the beauty.

Burrageara appeared in my collection about two years ago by Delen-Coy from 3 pretty strong pseudobulbs.
Put her in a trifern mix (fern roots) and cocoon (1:1). Noticed, that the thinner the roots of the plant, the more fine-grained substrate it prefers. Lay a layer of small pebbles on the bottom of the pot for drainage and stability, since the peduncles grow tall.
I put the orchid on an east-facing window at an average temperature of about +22 city., without significant changes throughout the year.
I do not light up. I water by immersing the flowerpot in warm water on 2/3 height for a couple of seconds 1 -2 once a week depending on the season.
I periodically add fertilizers in small amounts.
Over the past year, the plant has adapted and got stronger, and this year produced several new growths and two magnificent peduncles.

Burragearu acquired in his collection because of the scent. However, he disappointed me. The smell is really intense, this is especially noticeable through 5-7 days after the complete dissolution of the bud. But to me it seems sugary-sweet with unpleasant sour notes.
