EUKODONY "ASKS" IN THE CABINET
Eucodony, like many other representatives family Gesneriaceae, has a well-defined rest period.
My beauty blooms in the first decade of September and pleases with delicate flowers and pubescent foliage for about a month.
After which the plant slows down development, leaves gradually begin to wither, then dry up and fall off.
At the first signs of wilting, I reduce watering. When the stems and leaves are dry, stop moisturizing.
I cut off the dry aerial part, and I put the pot with the rhizome in a dark, cool place - in the lower compartment of the cabinet by the balcony.
TEMPERATURE during storage should ideally be + 12-14 city. It's a little warmer in my closet (+16-17 city.).
In February-March, I transplant rhizomes (similar to rhizomes of achimenes) into a fresh loose substrate. You can also dig them up for a dormant period and store them in dry perlite or sphagnum moss..
