Strelitzia has spots on the leaves and it turns yellow – what to do?

TREATMENT OF ARROWS

My royal strelitzia 16 years old. Grows in large capacity. Cvela. But the last year on the leaves (how in the center, and around the edges) light green spots began to appear, similar to strokes. At first there were few of them and the edges of the leaf blades dried out. Top dressing with potash fertilizer and spraying with microelements did not give results. Now some leaves are almost completely covered with spots and turned yellowish-green., although new ones come out green. Is this a viral disease and I will have to part with my favorite flower?

If apart from mosaicism there are no such signs, as: stunting (dwarfism), deformation of leaves and stems (small and narrow leaf blades, often with wavy or ragged edges, deformities), bush shape change (excessive bushiness and chopping), little or no bloom, then, likely, work not in viruses.

LOOKING FOR A REASON

The described symptoms can be with mineral starvation of the plant or frequent overflow. In addition to lack of potassium, spots like these may indicate problems with magnesium absorption, zinc, molybdenum, manganese.

However, feeding won't help., if problems begin with the root system.

The plant, sitting in one pot for many years without regular partial replacement of soil, oxygen starvation of the roots occurs, acidic (pH) and mechanical characteristics of the soil, drainage clogged, toxins accumulate, no nutrients are absorbed. Therefore, the roots die off, leaves turn yellow and dry, decreased immunity.

HOW TO HELP STRELITES – TREATMENT

Transplant the plant into a humus-based nutrient soil.

The pot can not be changed, but be sure to put a drain on the bottom, remove as much old soil from the root ball as possible with a wooden stick, remove all rotten areas, if possible, straighten the roots when planting. Pour the planted strelitzia with a solution of Fitosporin or Trichodermin with the addition of Zircon or Ribav-Extra to stimulate root growth.

In the process of plant recovery, you can feed it several times on a leaf with "Cytovite" in a half dose (1 times in 10 days) and spray with solutions of B vitamins. Complex root dressing can only be started with active growth.
