5 PACHIPODIUM CARE RULES

  1. In summer, the pachypodium feels great outdoors with shelter from the rain. But one must remember, that sudden temperature changes are fatal for the plant. In winter, when the pachypodium falls into a dormant state, it is best to move it to a cool room. If the plant has stopped watering and it shed its leaves, then a short stay even at a temperature of about zero will not harm him. The exceptions are pachypodiu-we namakwanum and brevikaule, for which the temperature should not fall below 15 °.
  2. In winter, the pachypodium tolerates dry apartment air well. But in summer especially in dry weather, it is advisable to spray it with warm water from time to time. And you need to do it like this, so that the water does not drain into the pot.
  3. If the plant has spent the winter in low light, then with the onset of spring, you cannot immediately expose it to bright light. It is fraught with burns. The pachypodium should be accustomed to new conditions gradually., increasing sun exposure every day.
  1. If the pachypodium is not kept under artificial lighting in winter, then it is advisable to practically exclude watering. Wet substrate can cause root rot.
  2. In summer, watering should be abundant, but rare. It is important to wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry to the very bottom.. Optimum water temperature for irrigation – 3-4 ° above room temperature.

IF THE PAHIPODIUM IS FILLED

With excessive watering of the pachypodium, softening and decay of the stem is possible. In this case, it is almost impossible to save the plant.. But you can try to root the living top of the pachypodium, true, rooting is slow, it may take several months.

You need to cut off all the rot, powder the place of the cut with a powder rooting agent and plant the tip in the sand, perlite or special substrate, intended for cacti. Watering should be very moderate.
