Cure for "stains"

The husband gave a potted chrysanthemum. Plus the plant was wrapped in cellophane. Didn't unpack right away, kept in shade during the day. Then transferred to the loggia and poured. A week later I noticed brown spots on the lower leaves. Where did they come from??

Likely, chrysanthemum attacked by a fungal disease. Buy Glyocladin Tablets. For a 1.5 liter pot, 3 pieces are enough. Dip them into the soil mixture for about 2 cm. The drug works, while keeping the substrate slightly damp. It would be nice to mulch its surface with sphagnum moss or vermiculite. Tear off the affected leaves and those, that touch the ground. If the bush is dense, I recommend thinning it out, cutting out a few shoots. Thus, you will improve the ventilation of the crown and prevent the development of the disease., which means, prolong the life of the flower.

To hold out until spring

For many years now I have been trying to keep chrysanthemum in a flowerpot. Failed yet. Prompt, how to do it right? Read, that some experienced growers then plant the plant in the garden.

You can save the flower until spring. You just have to take the following measures. Cut off all shoots, leaving hemp in the pot 4-5 cm. Twigs with flowers can be put into water - they will stand up and delight with their beauty. But the mother plant needs to be removed for the winter in a dark cool (+5-7 city.) premises.

Moisten the substrate occasionally, but not much. Do not forget to bury Glyokladina tablets in the soil before wintering.. In March, expose the pot with the plant to the light. New shoots will soon begin to grow. I recommend taking them for cuttings (rooted easily in loose soil, even without a greenhouse), and then plant it in the garden along with the mother bush.

Emergency transplant

The soil in the pot with chrysanthemum is moldy. She took it off carefully and spilled the earth with a solution of "Fitosporin". But after a week the mold was back! What to do?

Tatiana ANTIKHOVYCH

First of all, you need to eliminate the cause of mold.. I guess, what do you fill the plant. In this case, spilling the soil with a fungicide solution - making it even worse. Gently remove the chrysanthemum from the pot, shake off the roots from the old substrate as much as possible. Then transplant the flower into a fresh (loose, moisture permeable, with the addition of vermiculite or perlite) priming.

No need to add compost or vermicompost. In the future, do not overuse watering. If during the transfer you find, that the roots have turned brown, - the bush will soon die. Urgently cut!
