HIRITA – A BEAUTIFUL STRANGER

Acquired hiritu three years ago. I planted her in the soil for violets and take care of her, like for violets. During this time, she never bloomed. Has grown in total 6 leaflets. Previously, the plant did not feed, transplanted once a year in spring. It stands on the eastern windowsill. What kind of care is needed, so that hirita grows up and blooms?

Known, what kind hirita (Chirita) family Gesneriaceae about 100 species. The most common in culture are two: FROM. Lavadulacea (X. lavender) and C. sinensis (X. chinese). Define, did you purchase the first, possibly, only when it blooms. And if the second, then don't expect growth, because she is only tall 5 cm, and up to 35 cm.

CHIRITA CARE FEATURES

Hirita loves a fertile substrate (leaf land, peat, humus, sand, turf (2:3:1:1:1), a lot of light and a ventilated room.

During the growth of young leaves, water it moderately with water at room temperature.

To maintain high humidity, place the pot in moistened peat or on a tray with wet pebbles.

Feed the violet fertilizer monthly (at half concentration). A period of relative rest is not required.

Content temperature - +18-20 city., in winter - not lower +16 city.

Place - light or partial shade, better east or west windowsill. In winter - southern, shading from direct sunlight.

For winter flowering, hiritu needs to be supplemented at night..

Transplant it as needed, better in small clay pots in spring.

Avoid cold drafts, waterlogging of the substrate and a sharp change in temperature. Follow, so that leaves do not touch the window glass.

Remove dead flowers and damaged leaves, leaving no petioles; on adult plants - side rosettes as they appear.

Don't move hiritu from place to place.
