Once a friend offered a meaty hoya as a gift. But I never dared to take the flower. I thought, that caring for him is a responsible business, so I’d better watch him on the spot. Moreover, the hostess warned, that a plant can shed leaves and flowers, if you disturb him.
ХОЙЯ – FROM LIANA TO BUSH
Hoya was at first a vine with meter stems. Then a friend cut (in spring) cuttings and planted them in one pot. It turned out to be a cute fluffy bush.
It turned out, shoots with 3-4 pairs of leaves root well in water, but you can dry it and put it right in the sand.

Hoya loves diffused light. Prefers to grow on east or west facing windows. Poorly tolerates heat - leaves turn yellow. Water it moderately, in winter - scarce.
They are fed with mineral fertilizers from the end of February to August every two weeks.
The plant blooms with this care from June to October. When it fades, remove dried flowers, but not peduncles. New flowers will form on them next year..

To make the hoya fleshy (Hoya fleshy) pleased with abundant fragrant flowering (umbrella inflorescences are formed even in late autumn and early spring) and didn't get sick, I follow simple rules of care.
Content temperature during the heating season, when the plant is "dormant", do not lower or use backlighting. But he needs high humidity, otherwise drops buds. I spray the leaves periodically (not flowers!) from a spray bottle, wipe dust off with a damp sponge.
I ventilate the room regularly throughout the year, avoiding drafts.
From November to January, I water the hoya once a 2 weeks with standing water, without moisture stagnation. Twice a year (in autumn and spring) arrange a warm bath: pot on 1/2 I put the heights in the basin for half an hour.
I feed the plant from spring to autumn 2 once a month with a complex "mineral water" for flowering species - 50-75% on dosage, the rest of the time - on "starvation ration" periodically did not pinch the top of the stems (by the way, I do without support - I tie the whips). When the bush fades, I remove the longest shoots. But I don’t touch the old peduncles - this is a bud "incubator".

Rubbing the leaves (I spray ficus) diluted milk - 1 st.l.. on 3 st.l.. water. I take boiled liquids.
I remove the remnants of the white pulp from the banana peel and wipe the leaf blades with the surface of the skin. Sure, long business (the same stephanotis - how many leaves!), but it's worth it.

Cuttings in most representatives of this genus take root for a very long time.. Even after the appearance of many roots, the plant is "slow-thinking", can just sit in a frozen state. And then one day an invisible mechanism starts, The process is fast and irreversible.. You won't be able to look back, how a vine turned out from a twig with a couple of leaves. Her crop (after flowering) stimulates branching, and after a while, even from one cutting, a lush waterfall of greenery grows. I AM, eg, didn't expect, and planted several shoots in a pot at once. The presence of a growth point on the handle does not matter, so I divide one lash into fragments with 2-3 internodes and planted in a loose substrate, in a greenhouse.
When rooting, the soil should always be moderately moist..
FEATURES OF THE CONTENT
Hoya is beautiful (hoya bella) likes direct rays, but after adaptation, and uniform watering, without drying out and overmoistened. Responsive to shower and spraying, as it is easily attacked by spider mites. Unlike other species, this plant blooms without problems in a large pot., the main thing, provide plenty of bright sunlight and do not overdo it with watering.

For a long time I hung a meaty hoya (the fifth generation) along the wall. But, taking into account the length of the shoots (more 4 m), curly beauty was difficult to wash and care for her. I decided to "let" her from the bottom up.
Now two dry birch trees hold the liana as decorative stairs., brought from the forest, cutting off the branches, so that they resemble steps. It took more than an hour to transfer the plant to a larger pot, then it took the same amount of time to "persuade" the lashes to take a vertical position. In this form, hoya is much more comfortable, no loss of shoots and leaves, and it serves as a wonderful decoration of the room. And the content has become much more convenient. However, I will note, that it is better to accustom a plant from a young age (offshoot).
Is it possible to propagate hoya leaf cuttings (leaf)? How to do it right? Are there features of this method?
In large-leaved representatives of this genus, leaves confidently take root, and this is where the process usually ends.. Then they can live like this for years.: leaf with roots. The chance of getting a baby is less 50%, but there is a theoretical possibility. Therefore, formally - yes, hoyas can be propagated by broken leaves without buds, the only question is the timing and the final probability of ever seeing a baby from such a sheet. He can die from old age, and from not very optimal conditions of detention and do not give the baby.
