SILICON AND FOAM FOR RUELLIA
Ruella Portella is not often found among florists, therefore, few people have experience in growing. I will share my knowledge, can, who will be useful.

The plant was presented to me in 2012 year, without saying the name.
After a week of quarantine, I transferred the flower into a 1.5-liter flowerpot with drainage holes.
Washed river sand and peat were added to the substrate of turf and humus (2:1:1). A layer of expanded clay and small pieces of silicon was laid on the bottom of the pot (buy at the pharmacy).
I put the ruelle on the sill of the east window next to the saintpaulias. Shore and those, and others from drafts. In the summer I shade from direct sunlight. In winter, the plant is comfortable at a temperature of about +23 city.
So that the root system does not overcool, I put foam under the pots.
Ruella has many small roots., therefore, in the warm season, I water it abundantly and regularly, preventing the soil from drying out, - pour water into the pallet, and after 30 I drain the excess minutes.
Velvety leaves cannot be sprayed. To increase air humidity, I place a vessel with water next to it. During the flowering period, I feed the plant once every 2 weeks of complex fertilization.

SPECIALIST COMMENT
I use Kremnevite granules as a source of silicon for plants. They make the soil loose, breathable, absorb excess moisture and release it as needed, and also support the root system in stressful conditions (including during temperature changes).
Unlike pharmacy silicon "Kremnevit" contains potassium, which strengthens the stems and foliage of plants. By the way, this year I tried granules with the addition of a pest control. There are no midges in the apartment!
