What house plants need support

HOME PLANTS AND FLOWERS ON A SUPPORT

Some plants in the fight for a place in the sun have adapted to quickly climb up, using any suitable vertical surface, including neighbors in the rainforest. At home, they also need support..

PHILODENDRON

Among the representatives of this genus : a lot of vines, different in size, shape and color of foliage. Their juicy shoots are neatly fixed on supports, using non-traumatic material i for the garter, and aerial often long roots are regularly sprayed.

CEROPEGIA

Unusual flowers "parachutes" of Sanderson's ceropegia delight even an experienced florist.

However, the plant is wayward: if you do not "tame-oh on a support", "Run away" to bloom under the ceiling. And you will have to admire the flowering from afar

MONSTERA

This powerful vine also needs support ; impressive - strong and reliable, able to support the considerable weight of the plant. By the way, the most beautiful leaves, carved and large, monstera are formed on the shoots, upward.

SCINDAPSUS

Unlike its counterpart epipremnum, scindalsus painted is demanding in content, and if he is uncomfortable, grows small leaves, gives out "naked" whips.

Will improve the situation (primarily for lighting) uniform arrangement of shoots on the support.

SUPPORT FOR Ivy

Ivy is popularly considered an unpretentious "guy". With this I agree, and no. For instance, my plant develops quickly. I only have time to water and cut. But mom's flower does not take root - the leaves dry out, shrink, shoots do not want to "crawl".

MY GROWING RULES

I don't transplant ivy often (times in 2-3 years by transshipment method). I prepare the soil mixture from high-moor peat, coconut fiber fines and vermicompost (3:1:0,5).

From frequent watering (the plant loves moisture) the roots are exposed. A couple of times a season I add vermicompost to the pot. It is nutritious, that's why I don't carry out any additional fertilizing.

I spray the leaves daily. Once a month on a schedule - warm shower, to wash away the dust.

The sun's rays are useless to your pet. In the summer he likes the northern loggia.

Ivy shoots are strong, you can even braid them in a braid! But it will turn out more beautiful and neater, if you give them support.

SUPPORT FOR ASPARAGUS OWN HANDS

Long dreamed of an elegant plant for vertical gardening. So I bought a pinnate asparagus. Immediately transplanted the plant into a wide, shallow pot, in a universal primer for decorative leaf species. To protect fleshy thick rhizomes from decay, a layer of expanded clay was poured on the bottom of the bowl. The flower watered abundantly, sprinkled with "Epinom" and put in a semi-dark corner, covered with a transparent bag. When new sprouts appeared, moved to the western window, the shelter gradually removed.

Openwork overgrowth

Asparagus developed well in a few months. I barely had time to tie up the growing shoots. By the way, for all climbing plants I use light thin threads or fishing line (depending on the strength of the stems), so long branches seem to float in the air.

At the end of summer, I moved the asparagus pot to the room on a decorative stand, some of the shoots were fixed to the ceiling with threads and pins, part left hanging free at the edges of the pot. The effect is amazing!
