ABUTYLON: GROWING IN HOME CONDITIONS!

Abutilon, or, what is it called, indoor maple, I remember from childhood, he grew up with our relatives. High, to the ceiling, tree in a tub, blooming with bright orange bells, was perfectly formed: bare branches did not stick out to the sides, how is it, if you don't cut the plant.

On the contrary, as long as I remember, it always looked green, well leafy and blooming. On New Year's Eve Abutilon Sello, and it was him, decorated with tinsel and toys instead of a Christmas tree. When I got carried away with houseplants myself, began to look for this flower from childhood and found seeds.

I learned from the Internet, that abutilone seeds are similar, need scarification (hard shell damage). I bought a mixture "Bellevue". Soaked in Epin's solution, and when they swelled, trimmed the tips neatly (near 1 mm) nail scissors. Sowed in a bowl in a loose, nutritious, slightly damp soil. Of 10 ascended 6. The seedlings grew slowly in the beginning.. Watered them as the topsoil dries up. In about a month, with the appearance of a second pair of true leaves, a plant dived into cups (100 ml), where they began to quickly grow foliage.

Seedlings handed out, leaving myself one. After a few weeks, Abutilone bloomed. Large burgundy flowers with expressive pistils and stamens blossomed one after another. Generous flowering lasted more than half a year, till December. The next year in the spring, I pruned to 2/3 long shoots and main stem, and this stimulated the appearance of side branches. And in May, the renewed maple was again covered with buds and soon bloomed. She took him outside for the summer, I however, the leaves withered in the heat.

Then she transplanted into the open ground under an apple tree, and Abuti-Lon liked it: blossomed in the openwork shade of trees, without ceasing, until the frost. Has grown significantly, stretched out and looked like a garden ornamental shrub. In the fall, she cut off the tops of the shoots from the handsome man and returned him to the house.

the main thing, provide good lighting for abutilone, feed and water. And in response to leaving, he pleases with flowering until 10 months of the year.

The plant loves the sun and stretches in the shade. Only on the hottest days it can be shaded a little.. My abutilone occupies a large east window, where the sun shines on him in the morning. West and southwest windows will also work..

Feeding the flower, starting in early spring: during the period of active growth - fertilizers with a high nitrogen content (according to instructions), during budding and flowering once a week - complex for flowering species. Sometimes I add 1 ч.л.. ash (potassium source).

Abutilon is moisture-loving and, with insufficient moisture, immediately lowers the leaves. I water the plant abundantly after the topsoil dries, in the heat - every day. However, waterlogging should not be allowed., so I immediately drain the water from the pan.

BRIGHT ABUTYLON COLORS

Abutilones have appeared in my flower collection for a long time. The first one with bright orange bells was brought into the house by my daughter. He immediately won my heart and settled in it firmly and for a long time.

Seeing the bloom of a handsome man and recognizing, that there are different colors, decided to grow it from seeds. And how lucky I am, that I started my experience in growing flowers in this way with abutilones - it turned out to be easy to work with them.

I DO NOT LIST WITH ABUTYLONE TRANSLATION

Sowed seeds in peat tablets (they are the easiest to grow in), packed in a transparent cake box.

I aired the greenhouse every day for a few minutes, so that mold does not appear on the soil, although peat tablets are resistant to this, as treated with special fungicides.

Kept crops warm (not less +22 city.). When shoots appeared, the lid was opened for a longer period of time, until I took it off completely. A month later, she planted the seedlings in separate cups (100 r). Noticed, that it is impossible to delay with the transfer, otherwise the plants stretch and weaken. Later 3 months passed them into small pots along the root system. Fed with fertilizer with a predominance of nitrogen and potassium in half the concentration. When aged 5 months abutylons bloomed, it was very exciting: what color will the firstborns be?

LARGE COLLECTION

Abutilones are unpretentious, except that it is necessary to take into account their several preferences: loose earth with neutral reaction; air temperature - not lower + 12 city, (favorable - +18-24 city.); bright diffused lighting for flowering, better on east and west windows (in winter it is possible in the south); regular watering, after the topsoil dries out; feeding (except winter months) fertilizer for flowering species, the formation of bushes in early spring - to maintain compactness.

A lot? To my mind, nothing at all compared to the joy of seeing this palette of colors!

PET ABUTYLON

I have grown many plants from seeds, but one abutilone is a favorite "from scratch". This is a hybrid of white Bella Vanilla and pink Bella Pink. An interesting feature of my pet - after opening, the flowers are yellowish at first, and over time they become snow-white.

SEEDING "WITH DUST WITH A HEAT"

Since abutilone seeds quickly lose their germination, abandoned the idea of ​​getting seedlings after several unsuccessful attempts. But fate gave me a new chance - I was presented with freshly picked. I did not treat them with any stimulants. Sowed in a bowl with drainage holes in universal soil with coconut fiber, immersed in 2 mm. Covered with a bag with a couple of holes for ventilation. Put it on a rack with lighting and bottom heating (important for germination). I aired the crops daily for several minutes. If necessary, moistened with a spray bottle. A week later, shoots appeared. When they grew up to 3 cm, began to increase the airing time,gradually accustoming to life outside the greenhouse. Fortified seedlings dived into separate small pots.

FORMED SIMPLY

Abutilon Bella is easy to form into a compact tree on a trunk. Choosing the strongest plant, pinched the top of his head, when it has reached the desired height. After the appearance of several lateral strong shoots with foliage, all branches below the pinch on the trunk were removed.

FEATURES OF THE CONTENT

In summer, the plant only needs protection from midday sun rays.. At temperatures above +30 city, leaves may begin to deform. I try not to let this happen and turn on the air conditioner.

In winter and in the cold off-season, I put a thick block of polystyrene on the windowsill under the pot with abutilon, to smooth out temperature fluctuations: no root hypothermia, and with the batteries on - overheating of the earthy coma. I reduce watering during this period. When airing, I take the plant to another room..

WHITE PET ABUTYLON

No matter how many abutilone seeds I bought, all grow in the same color - orange. And last summer, on the balcony of a neighboring house, I saw a gorgeous bush with large white flowers. And this winter we managed to get three shoots of the plant. Carried them in the bosom in the cold and rejoiced like a child, got the desired toy.

ABUTILON UNDER LIGHTING

Put the cuttings, dipping in "Kornevin", in a glass of boiled water, to which I added a tablet of activated carbon and a couple of drops of succinic acid. Covered with half a plastic bottle and placed under the lamp. Constantly looked in and checked, are there any roots. When a small callus has formed, transplanted the cuttings into the substrate in separate pots and also covered with bottles without corks.

ABUTYLONS HAVE BEEN ROOTED SUCCESSFULLY

Only by spring did it become clear, that the cuttings have taken root, since new leaves have appeared. Transplanted abutilons in a container with a volume 1 l (they bloom badly in the big ones).

FOR SUBSTRATE I mixed ready soil for palm trees, sand, fine charcoal and humus.

After the transplant, the pets quickly grew.. Are standing on the western windowsill. The sun is enough for them. The first flower was huge - 8 cm in diameter! They bloomed one by one: you look at a bush - and so many positive emotions! I feed the plants once every 10 days (insist on nettles; chicken manure in granules). But I try not to overdo it with fertilizers..

THEY CAN'T NOT LOVE

There are now other abutilons in my collection - Bellevue, Organza. One grew up on a trunk

But a handsome man with large white flowers is in his favorites. Although all flowers are dear to the heart (today I have about a hundred of them) : they give joy, positive mood, save from blues and loneliness. It was easier with them to survive self-isolation..
