Crassula (Photo) planting and care at home

WE SHAPE BEAUTY WITH A NICE BEAUTIFUL TREE

If you follow simple rules, then within several years it will be possible to form a fat woman in the form of a neat tree, which will decorate any interior. My crassula from a small cutting has grown to size, as in the photo (48 cm), only 3 of the year!

  1. SOIL FOR PLANTING

Preferably, so that the substrate is loose and nutritious. for example, in a mixture of leaf, turf land, add a little humus, and for looseness - river sand or vermiculite. Drainage is required, so that the roots do not rot, since the plant tolerates drought better, than waterlogging.

  1. LIGHTING

In good lighting, the fat woman develops more fully., giving many shoots and leaves. Sure, can stand in the shade, but growth will be weak.

The plant is good in the south, east or west window. Shade from the direct sun. To get a tree with a uniform crown, it should be turned gradually.

  1. TEMPERATURE

Crassula withstands a decrease in winter to +7-10 city. Optimal temperature regime - + 16-18 degrees. Higher during wintering is not recommended, as the leaves may partially fall. In summer, the flower is comfortable in a slightly shaded place outdoors: on the veranda, balcony, under the crown of a tree.

  1. IRRIGATION OF KRASSULA

The soil should dry out between waterings. Especially carefully it should be moistened in winter - there is a high risk of root rot, since water does not have time to be absorbed quickly.

  1. FEEDING OF CRASSULA

They feed the fat woman during active growth: from April to September - once a 3-4 weeks. Suitable for universal fertilizer or for decorative leaf species, cacti and other succulents. It is brought in after watering, diluting half the norm. Overnutrition will inhibit growth.

GROWING THE COLD WOMAN – LANDING AND CARE, TIPS AND FEEDBACK

I ADMIRE THE FAT

It's beautiful, undemanding and useful plant will not cause trouble, if you take good care of it. It is also considered: while the "money tree" grows in the house, happiness and prosperity will not leave him.

KRASSULA – FROM THE SHAFT IN THE TREE

She grew her oval crassula from a stem cutting, which was already with roots.

The plant prefers loose, water – and breathable, light sandy soils, but strongly sour and heavy do not suit her. I buy special soil for succulents. A pot with drainage holes is not too deep., but wider, since the root system is superficial. At the bottom of the flowerpot I pour expanded clay with a layer of about 2 cm. I do not deepen the root neck. After planting, I moisten the plant along the edges of the pot with settled water at room temperature..

Diffused light is best for a fat woman. From direct rays, a reddish border appears along the edges of the leaves., plates begin to dry and fall off. In strong shade, the shoots stretch out and become brittle..

In the summer I take Crassula to fresh air, and she hibernates on an insulated balcony.

Waterlogging is detrimental to the plant, so I water it sparingly.: during the warm season - once a week, in winter - a couple of times a month. After watering, carefully loosen the soil.

I feed a fat woman in spring and summer once a month with a universal complex fertilizer for cacti and succulents (according to instructions).

THE FAT WOMAN HAS A GOOD LOOK

Periodically I spray Crassula from a spray bottle, I clean the leaves from dust with a damp cloth, dry - remove.

To give the plant a neat look, timely cut and pinch the branches, maintaining an even crown volume. Otherwise, the fat woman can stretch out a lot, bend over and even fall under the weight of the green mass. Started to form, when the height of the stem has reached approx. 20 cm. In the spring and summer, with a sharp knife, I shorten the elongated shoots for better branching.. In early spring I prune the weak, zasohšie, damaged branches, and I cover the places of cuts with garden pitch or powder with crushed charcoal. I clean the stem of the tree from excess shoots. So that Crassula does not grow one-sided, every month I turn the pot in different directions to the sun.

SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF CRASSULA

The leaves of the fat woman can fall off for various reasons.: wrong watering regimen (too wet or too dry soil), sudden changes in temperature, drafts, lack of light, proximity to heat sources, direct light hit, watering with cold water, overfeeding, damage by diseases and pests.

Noticed, if the "money tree" leaves become smaller, means, the plant either lacks light - move to a brighter place, or the roots are crowded - transplant into a larger pot. Or maybe, your fat woman is many years old - in this case, rejuvenate the plant.

  1. Various succulents on the windowsill: I usually keep them all the same in winter - cool and almost completely dry, how often recommended. But by the spring there are losses. Why?

    1. Most succulents calmly “sleep” in cool and dry conditions until spring., such conditions are only to their advantage.
But there are exceptions - some species from the Southern Hemisphere, who, due to genetic memory, cannot sleep in our autumn-winter, because in their homeland it's the other way around. it, eg, refers to the crassula. They are mostly not, that do not sleep, but they also strive to bloom in cold weather, when natural light is not always enough for this.
SO during this period, try to create milder conditions for plants of this genus: temperature — +16-22 city., the brightest window and, if possible, supplementary lighting, regular, but moderate watering, to keep the succulent in good shape, but don't let go.

And in gratitude for the care, the Crassulas will bestow their modest, but charming bloom. By the way, flowers of many species are fragrant.
