Dieffenbachia appeared in our house a long time ago. I remember this little "frog" with tiny roots - a present from a good friend.
Planted in a medium-sized pot. Once the plant has adapted, immediately began to actively grow, the leaves were much larger than the previous ones. Soon the "trim" turned into a two-meter
And once, under the weight of its own foliage, Dieffenbachia fell from the nightstand. All the leaves on one side are broken.
But when she began to transplant the one-sided plant into a larger pot, found three new processes in the ground, departing from the trunk. I planted one of them, I distributed the rest. And three years later, she again received a beauty under two meters.
To renew an old plant, it was enough to cut off the top, which quickly grows roots in water (I didn't even use stimulants). After such an operation, the remaining stump gave four daughter shoots at once!

If the area of the house allows you to grow large specimens, then by all means get dieffenbachia. The plant is spectacular and hassle-free. Remember just a few tips for care:
- loves light, but not direct sun (burns may occur) ;
- thermophilic and does not tolerate drafts;
- I don't feed and spray my Dieffenbachia, and from time to time I wipe the leaves from dust;
- plant juice is poisonous, therefore care must be taken when trimming the trunk, and sprinkle the cut with activated carbon.

I always dreamed of a large living room with many large plants. When did the opportunity arise, It revealed, that I have mainly settled tropical and subtropical cultures.
All the time I tried to create for them close to natural conditions: light, warmly, humidity. But it turned out, climatic subzones are heterogeneous. So, eg, it can be a mountainous area or a tropical desert, shady forest, sea coast, etc.. Hence the different levels of humidity., soil, temperature.
Noticed, that she feels great in a slightly shaded place, but the temperature must always be maintained in the range from +16 to +22 city. There is a plant in a large flowerpot on the floor by the east window. In winter, I rarely water the flower, avoiding excess moisture and drying out of the soil. Air humidity needs high, therefore, during the heating season, I spray the crown and wipe the leaves with a wet napkin or banana peel.
They say, that dieffenbachia rarely blooms, and mine almost every summer throws out "spikelets". Probably, this is a reward for loving her and proper care. I love her not only for her beauty, but also for that, which cleans the air of harmful toxins.
