  1. Contrary to popular stereotype, that nephrolepis need a shady place, good diffused lighting they like. I have flowerpots with plants on or near the eastern and western windowsills.. Just not in the back of the room! I suspect, that adult specimens will endure the lack of light, but their decorativeness will suffer after a while.
  2. Handsome men need loose soil, structural, moisture-absorbing. Fern, what's in the photo, Powerfully started after transferring to the soil mixture from "Agrobalt" peat soil and sphagnum (1:1). I even added a little more moss. I also introduced granules of the prolonged Ba-zakot fertilizer. It said, sure, and increasing the length of the day. But still, according to other copies, who "sit" in not particularly high-quality high-moor peat with the same sphagnum, noticeably, what's the difference.
  3. Winter maintenance should be as light as possible.

I have pots of plants on the shelves under the lamps. And still the fronds dry up. At the end of winter, I just cut them.

Checked out: ferns grow much faster, purchased from local collectors.

"Dutch" adapt long and painfully.

I water the nephrolepis as the soil dries up. By the way, they like wick watering.

And here is another gorgeous ampel - monet loosestrife, or lysimachia.

I got it to add to flower arrangements. But even in a monovariant, the plant looks gorgeous. Draws attention with bright light green leaves. Doesn't grow too fast, but perfectly cuttings.

Verbeinik came to me the autumn before last in a small pot. In winter he rested, only in the spring gave an increase. Means, cuttings are best cut in January, so that they have time to gain weight by the warm season. And then them - to the balcony!

Nephrolepis has been decorating the interior of my house for many years.. Fern is beautiful and healthy - it perfectly cleans the air from harmful impurities. However, over time, the bush begins to age. (fronds turn brown), so I rejuvenate him. Moreover, if necessary, I do it at any time of the year, and in winter too. the main thing, to keep the plant healthy.

    SIMPLE PROCEDURE
I take the plant out of the pot, I shorten the roots all over the coma and cut the leaves on 2/3 length. Then I cut the rhizome into several pieces and plant each piece in a new pot. Ferns grow to the sides, so I take a wide container. I add sand to light and acidic soil. Be sure to lay the drainage. I water nephrolepis moderately, so as not to pour and prevent overdrying. The soil should always be slightly damp. I feed the plant in spring and summer with organic matter, but I don't use mineral fertilizers - I noticed, that ferns do not tolerate them well.
